Daily: Domestic rice prices increased by VND100 – 150/kg on August 12, 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, rice prices in the domestic market edged up slightly for raw rice varieties on August 12. New buying is slow, late-season supply is limited, and prices are generally stable.
In the Mekong Delta, rice prices showed little change. Raw rice for export rose slightly compared to the weekend: OM 380 raw rice up VND100/kg to VND8,300 – 8,400/kg; CL 555 raw rice up VND150/kg to VND8,800 – 8,900/kg; 5451 raw rice at VND9,500 – 9,650/kg; IR 504 raw rice at VND8,500 – 8,600/kg; OM 18 raw rice at VND9,600 – 9,700/kg. Finished OM 380 rice traded at VND8,800 – 9,000/kg; finished IR 504 at VND9,500 – 9,700/kg.
By-products range from VND7,400 – 9,000/kg: OM 5451 fragrant broken rice at VND7,400 – 7,500/kg; bran at VND8,000 – 9,000/kg.
In An Giang, raw rice rose slightly, other varieties remained stable. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), arrivals were scarce, transactions slow, prices steady. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice arrivals at ports were limited, prices held firm. Similar trends were recorded in Cai Be (Tien Giang), with little volume and slow buying.
Retail rice prices were unchanged from the weekend: Nang Nhen at VND28,000/kg; Huong Lai at VND22,000/kg; regular rice at VND13,000 – 14,000/kg; Thai fragrant long grain at VND20,000 – 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa at VND21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice at VND20,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice at VND16,000 – 18,000/kg; standard white rice at VND16,000/kg; regular Soc rice at VND16,000 – 17,000/kg; Thai Soc rice at VND20,000/kg; Japanese rice at VND22,000/kg.
For fresh paddy in An Giang: IR 50404 at VND5,700 – 5,900/kg; Nang Hoa 9 at VND6,000 – 6,200/kg; Dai Thom 8 at VND6,100 – 6,200/kg; OM 18 at VND6,000 – 6,200/kg; OM 5451 at VND5,900 – 6,000/kg; OM 308 at VND5,700 – 5,900/kg.
Late-season paddy supply remains low, with slow buying in Can Tho, Dong Thap, An Giang, Long An, and Ca Mau.
Export prices remained unchanged: Vietnam 5% broken rice at USD395/tonne; 25% broken at USD371/tonne; 100% broken at USD339/tonne, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA).
