Meanwhile, in the first 6 months of 2025, fertilizer import reached 3.18 million tonnes, worth of over 1.05 billion USD, up by 23% in volume, up by 25.4% in value compared to the first 6 months of 2024.

In the first 6 months of 2025, fertilizer export reached 1.12 million tonnes, worth 449.61 million USD, up by 23.9% in volume, up by 24.2% in value compared to the first 6 months of 2024.
According to preliminary data from the Customs Department, in June of 2025, Vietnam exported 171,353 tonnes of fertilizer, worth of 77.61 million USD, with an average price of 453 USD/tonne, down by 8.3% in volume, down by 0.6% in turnover but up by 8.5% in price compared to May of 2025. In comparison to June of 2024, it also decreased 0.9% in volume, but increased 20.8% in turnover and increased 21.9% in price.
In the first 6 months of 2025, fertilizer exports reached 1.12 million tonnes, worth of 449.61 million USD, with an average price of 401.8 USD/tonne, up by 23.9% in volume, 24.2% in turnover and 0.2% in price compared to the first 6 months of 2024.
Vietnam's main fertilizer export markets in June and the first 6 months of 2025
Vietnam's fertilizer exports were mostly to the Cambodian market, accounting for 33.9% in volume and 32.1% in turnover of the country's total fertilizer exports, reaching 379,120 tonnes, worth of 144.31 million USD, with an average price of 380.6 USD/tonne; increased by 51.6% in volume, increased by 41.2% in value but decreased by 6.9% in price compared to the first 6 months of 2024.
The South Korean market ranked second with 108,978 tonnes, worth of 44.74 million USD, average price of 410.6 USD/tonne; increased by 13.9% in volume, increased by 13.2% in turnover but decreased by 0.7% in price, accounting for nearly 10% in both volume and turnover. The next was the Malaysian market with 80,681 tonnes, worth 33.9 million USD, average price of 420.2 USD/tonne; increased by 33.8% in volume, increased by 56.9% in turnover and increased by 17.2% in price, accounting for over 7% in both volume and turnover.
In general, fertilizer exports to most markets in the first 6 months of 2025 increased in both volume and value compared to the same period in 2024.

According to preliminary data from the Customs Department, in June of 2025, Vietnam imported 802,691 tonnes of fertilizer, worth of 301.97 million USD, with an average price of 376.2 USD/tonne, up by 45.9% in volume, up by 73.6% in value and up by 19% in price compared to May of 2025. In comparison to June of 2024, it also increased sharply by 76% in volume, up by 95.8% in value and up by 11.2% in price.
In the first 6 months of 2025, fertilizer imports reached nearly 3.18 million tonnes, worth of over 1.05 billion USD, with an average price of 330.7 USD/tonne, up by 23% in volume, by 25.4% in turnover and by 2% in price compared to the first 6 months of 2024.
Vietnam's main fertilizer import markets in June and the first 6 months of 2025
The largest amount of fertilizer imported into Vietnam came from the Chinese market, accounting for 42.4% in volume and 38.2% in turnover of the country's total fertilizer imports, reaching 1.35 million tonnes, worth of 402.01 million USD, with an average price of 298.3 USD/tonne; increased by 30.4% in volume, increased by 35.8% in turnover and increased by 4.2% in price compared to the first 6 months of 2024.
The Russian market ranked second, accounting for 14.8% in volume and 21% in turnover, reaching 470,489 tonnes, worth of 221.67 million USD, the average price was 471.2 USD/tonne; increased by 29.9% in volume, increased by 35.1% in turnover and increased by 4% in price;
Next was the Lao market, accounting for 7.2% in volume and 6.1% in turnover, reaching 227,951 tonnes, worth of 64.28 million USD, the average price was 282 USD/tonne; increased by 32.2% in volume, increased by 42.2% in turnover and increased by 7.6% in price.
Fertilizer imports from the RCEP FTA market in the first 6 months of 2025 reached 2.06 million tonnes, worth of 580.78 million USD, up by 26.8% in volume, up by 29.2% in turnover compared to the first 6 months of 2024. Fertilizer imports from the CPTPP FTA market reached 377,770 tonnes, worth of 79.17 million USD, up by 18.7% in volume, up by 27% in turnover. Fertilizer imports from the Southeast Asian market reached 371,823 tonnes, worth of 110.69 million USD, up by 20% in volume, up by 16.4% in turnover compared to the same period of 2024.
