Vietnam fertilizer market July 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - Domestic fertilizer prices in July 2025 remained unchanged compared to the previous month, due to an abundant supply and no sudden changes in demand between crops. However, compared to previous years, prices of most fertilizers remained high.
In the Northern region, fertilizer prices continued to move sideways. Specifically, the lowest price recorded was 540,000 - 580,000 VND/bag for Phu My urea and Ha Bac urea had a higher price of 560,000 - 590,000 VND/bag. Lam Thao superphosphate fertilizer is being sold at 250,000 - 270,000 VND/bag.
Fertilizer prices in the Central region have not yet been adjusted. Accordingly, Lam Thao phosphate fertilizer has the lowest price of 280,000 - 300,000 VND/bag. Higher is Van Dien phosphate fertilizer with the price of 270,000 - 290,000 VND/bag. NPK 16 - 16 - 8 Dau Trau fertilizer has the same price of 720,000 - 740,000 VND/bag, Phu My is 710,000 - 730,000 VND/bag and Lao Cai is 700,000 - 720,000 VND/bag. In the Southwest region, the fertilizer market continues to stagnate. Specifically, the selling price of Ca Mau potassium flakes is still listed at around 500,000 - 530,000 VND/bag. The selling price of NPK 20 - 20 - 15 Ba Con Co fertilizer also remained unchanged at 870,000 - 900,000 VND/bag.
In the Southeast - Central Highlands region, fertilizer prices remained stable. Specifically, Phu My and Ca Mau powdered potassium fertilizers continued to be listed at 500,000 - 580,000 VND/bag and 490,000 - 570,000 VND/bag, respectively. For NPK 16 - 16 - 8 fertilizer, Ca Mau type is being sold at 660,000 - 750,000 VND/bag, Phu My type is 650,000 - 750,000 VND/bag and Dau Trau is priced at 670,000 - 750,000 VND/bag.
Supply
According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, in June 2025, the country imported 802,691 tons of fertilizer, worth 301.97 million USD, with an average price of 376.2 USD/ton, up 45.9% in volume, 73.6% in value and 19% in price compared to May 2025; compared to June 2024, it also increased sharply by 76% in volume, 95.8% in value and 11.2% in price.
In the first 6 months of 2025, fertilizer imports reached nearly 3.18 million tons, worth over 1.05 billion USD, with an average price of 330.7 USD/ton, up 23% in volume, 25.4% in turnover and 2% in price compared to the first 6 months of 2024. Fertilizers imported to Vietnam are mostly from the Chinese market, accounting for 42.4% in volume and 38.2% in turnover of the country's total fertilizer imports, reaching 1.35 million tons, worth 402.01 million USD, with an average price of 298.3 USD/ton; increased by 30.4% in volume, increased by 35.8% in turnover and increased by 4.2% in price compared to the first 6 months of 2024.
Ranked second is the Russian market, accounting for 14.8% in volume and 21% in turnover, reaching 470,489 tons, worth 221.67 million USD, average price 471.2 USD/ton; increased by 29.9% in volume, increased by 35.1% in turnover and increased by 4% in price;
Next is the Lao market, accounting for 7.2% in volume and 6.1% in turnover, reaching 227,951 tons, worth 64.28 million USD, average price 282 USD/ton; increased by 32.2% in volume, increased by 42.2% in turnover and increased by 7.6% in price.
Fertilizer imports from the RCEP FTA market in the first 6 months of 2025 reached 2.06 million tons, worth 580.78 million USD, up 26.8% in volume and 29.2% in value compared to the first 6 months of 2024. Fertilizer imports from the CPTPP FTA market reached 377,770 tons, worth 79.17 million USD, up 18.7% in volume and 27% in value. Fertilizer imports from the Southeast Asian market reached 371,823 tons, worth 110.69 million USD, up 20% in volume, up 16.4% in turnover compared to the same period in 2024.
Export
According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in June 2025, Vietnam exported 171,353 tonnes of fertilizer, worth 77.61 million USD, with an average price of 453 USD/tonne, down 8.3% in volume, down 0.6% in value but up 8.5% in price compared to May 2025; compared to June 2024, it also decreased 0.9% in volume, but increased 20.8% in value and increased 21.9% in price.
In the first 6 months of 2025, fertilizer exports reached 1.12 million tonnes, worth 449.61 million USD, with an average price of 401.8 USD/tonne, up 23.9% in volume, 24.2% in turnover and 0.2% in price compared to the first 6 months of 2024. Vietnam's fertilizer exports were the largest to the Cambodian market, accounting for 33.9% in volume and 32.1% in turnover of the country's total fertilizer exports, reaching 379,120 tonnes, worth 144.31 million USD, with an average price of 380.6 USD/tonne; increased by 51.6% in volume, increased by 41.2% in value but decreased by 6.9% in price compared to the first 6 months of 2024.
Ranking second is the Korean market with 108,978 tonnes, worth 44.74 million USD, average price of 410.6 USD/tonne; increased by 13.9% in volume, increased by 13.2% in turnover but decreased by 0.7% in price, accounting for nearly 10% in both volume and turnover; Next is the Malaysian market with 80,681 tonnes, worth 33.9 million USD, average price of 420.2 USD/tonne; increased by 33.8% in volume, increased by 56.9% in turnover and increased by 17.2% in price, accounting for over 7% in both volume and turnover.
In general, fertilizer exports to most markets in the first 6 months of 2025 increased in both volume and value compared to the same period in 2024.
