Daily: Domestic pepper prices remained unchanged on July 25, 2025
Friday, July 25,2025
AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, domestic pepper prices ranged from VND136,500 to VND138,000 per kilogram on July 25, 2025.
In the first half of 2025, global pepper consumption maintained a stable to slightly upward trend despite a drop in supply compared to 2024.
• In Đắk Lắk: VND138,500/kg
• In Đắk Nông (Lâm Đồng): VND138,000/kg
• In Gia Lai: VND136,500/kg
• In Đồng Nai: VND136,500/kg
• In Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (HCMC): VND137,000/kg
• In Bình Phước (Đồng Nai): VND137,000/kg
Prices remained steady compared to the previous morning.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), pepper prices in the first half of 2025 nearly doubled from the same period in 2024. This has encouraged some countries to expand cultivation, though the resulting supply boost will not impact the market until 2–3 years later.
At producing countries, reduced supply and stronger farmer finances have discouraged post-harvest sell-offs, helping to stabilize prices and sustain optimism for continued strength.
While US tariff policy has had some effect on trade, the biggest current challenge for Vietnam’s pepper exporters lies in the lack of clear guidance on VAT policy for agricultural exports. This uncertainty has slowed export operations and temporarily dampened domestic activity.
However, once tax issues are resolved, prices are expected to recover due to strong international demand—especially from the US, where importers are forecast to boost orders in Q4 2025 and Q1 2026 to prepare for peak consumption.
