Daily: Domestic rice prices rose on July 25, 2025

AsemconnectVietnam -  According to Kinhtedothi, on July 25, domestic rice prices rose by VND100/kg for certain varieties. Export prices for 100% broken rice also increased by USD2/tonne.

In the Mekong Delta, the market remained relatively stable. Trading volume was low, with steady domestic rice and fresh paddy prices, while some raw rice types for export saw slight gains.
At Sa Đéc Market (Đồng Tháp), supply was adequate, buyers were active, and prices were firm. In An Cư (Đồng Tháp Mới, formerly part of Tiền Giang), supply was limited but trading was active, with stable prices.
Retail rice prices were mostly unchanged from the previous day:
  • Nàng Nhen: VND28,000/kg (highest)
  • Hương Lài: VND22,000/kg
  • Regular white rice: VND13,000–14,000/kg
  • Thai fragrant long-grain rice: VND20,000–22,000/kg
  • Nàng Hoa: VND21,000/kg
  • Taiwanese fragrant rice: VND20,000/kg
  • Jasmine rice: VND16,000–18,000/kg
  • Standard white rice: VND16,000/kg
  • Standard Sóc rice: VND16,000–17,000/kg
  • Thai Sóc rice: VND20,000/kg
  • Japanese rice: VND22,000/kg
Paddy prices (based on data from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province):
  • IR 50404 (fresh): VND5,700–5,800/kg
  • Nàng Hoa 9: VND6,000–6,200/kg
  • Đài Thơm 8 (fresh): VND6,100–6,200/kg
  • OM 18 (fresh): VND6,000–6,200/kg
  • OM 5451 (fresh): VND5,900–6,000/kg
  • OM 308 (fresh): VND5,700–5,900/kg
Trading remained light but showed a slight upward trend in several localities:
  • In Hậu Giang (formerly part of Cần Thơ): slow activity, steady prices
  • In An Giang: regular harvesting, light new trades, fresh paddy prices rising
  • In Cà Mau (formerly part of Bạc Liêu): consistent supply, stable prices
  • In Đồng Tháp: farmers holding out for higher prices, weak buying interest
  • In Tây Ninh (formerly part of Long An): increased harvesting, better trade flow
  • In Sóc Trăng (formerly part of Cần Thơ): slow trading, stable prices
Export market:
Vietnam’s export rice prices remained mostly stable from the previous day, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA):
  • 5% broken rice: USD381/tonne
  • 25% broken rice: USD357/tonne
  • 100% broken rice: USD319/tonne (up USD2/tonne)
