Vietnam - Singapore two-way trade in first 6 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam - Singapore two-way trade relations in the first 6 months of 2025 reached nearly 5.92 billion USD, an increase of 18.87% over the same period of 2024.

The exports of goods to Singapore reached nearly 2.86 billion USD in the first 6 months of 2025, an increase of 14.49% over the first 6 months of 2024. Thus, Vietnam's trade deficit with Singapore in the first 6 months reached over 206.82 million USD, while in the first 6 months of 2024, Vietnam's trade surplus with Singapore was 9.56 million USD.
The group of computers, electronic products and components always led in export turnover to Singapore, reaching 661.7 million USD, accounting for 23.17% of the total export turnover of all kinds of goods to Singapore, up by 31.34% compared to the first 6 months of 2024. The group of means of transport and spare parts ranks second in turnover, up by 80.58% compared to the first 6 months of 2024, reaching 484.46 million USD, accounting for 16.96%. The next was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts ranks third, with an increase of 8.51%, reaching 458.2 million USD, accounting for 16.04%; the group of glass and glass products reaches 300.65 million USD, accounting for 10.53%, up by 20.58%. In general, in the first 6 months of 2025, the export turnover of most goods to Singapore increased compared to the first 6 months of 2024.
Goods imported from Singapore to Vietnam reached over 3.06 billion USD in the first 6 months of 2025, an increase of 23.26% compared to the first 6 months of 2024.
In June of 2025 alone, the country’s import turnover increased by 39.09% compared to May of 2025, reaching over 578.77 million USD and an increase of 68.47% compared to June of 2024.
In 2024, two-way trade relations between Vietnam and Singapore reached over 10.53 billion USD, an increase of 16.96% compared to 2023. The trade deficit with Singapore in 2024 reached 217.73 million USD, a decrease of 48.15%.
The largest group of imported goods from Singapore in the past 6 months was petroleum of all kinds, reaching 1.39 billion USD, accounting for 45.4% of the total import turnover of all kinds of goods from this market, up by 31.14% compared to the first 6 months of 2024. The group of computers, electronic products and components imported from Singapore ranked second in terms of turnover, reaching 332.31 million USD, accounting for 10.9% of the total turnover, up 53.7%. The next was the group of perfumes, cosmetics and cleaning products reaching 190.49 million USD, accounting for 6.22% of the total turnover, down by 4.69%; other petroleum products reached nearly 280.42 million USD, accounting for 9.16%, up by 68.77%.
