AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, after a brief drop, domestic pepper prices have rebounded to VND139,000 – 141,000/kg on July 16. Vietnam's pepper inventories are at 5–6 year lows, with 8 months to go before the next harvest.

 • Dak Lak: VND141,000/kg (+VND1,000)

• Vietnamese pepper:
o Black (500 g/l): USD6,440/tonne
o Black (550 g/l): USD6,570/tonne
o White: USD9,150/tonne
Ptexim's Week 28 report (July 7–13) notes a sharp USD100–200/tonne drop following the US’s announcement of a 50% countervailing duty on Brazil.
Brazil’s spice association may advise producers to hold inventory—as they did 2–3 weeks ago—to help prices rebound.
Vietnam's pepper stock is historically low, and the country benefits from the lowest US tariff (20%), compared to 32% for Indonesia and 50% for Brazil. This gives Vietnam an edge to maintain exports and global leadership.
Since 2001, Vietnam has been the world’s largest pepper exporter, currently accounting for over 60% of global traded volume.
Domestically, many farmers are holding inventory for better prices. Export demand remains stable with positive signs from the US, EU, and India, supporting price growth in Q3/2025.
