Daily: Domestic rice prices increased on July 15

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, on July 15, domestic raw rice prices were adjusted upward by VND200/kg, with the market showing relatively stable transactions and low volumes.

In the Mekong Delta, prices were mostly stable with modest volumes. However, certain types of raw rice for export saw price hikes compared to the weekend.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang, current prices:
• OM 380: VND7,700 – 7,800/kg (+VND300)
• CL 555: VND8,200 – 8,300/kg (+VND200)
• OM 18: VND9,600 – 9,700/kg
• IR 504: VND7,600 – 7,700/kg
• 5451: VND9,100 – 9,150/kg
Finished rice:
• OM 380: VND8,800 – 9,000/kg
• IR 504: VND9,500 – 9,700/kg
By-products:
• Fragrant broken rice IR504: VND7,000 – 7,300/kg
• Bran: VND8,000 – 9,000/kg
Local observations showed modest supply and relatively stable domestic rice prices.
• In An Giang, warehouses bought fragrant and glutinous rice modestly; trading was slow and prices showed little change.
• In Lấp Vò and Sa Đéc (Đồng Tháp): steady prices, low volumes.
• At Sa Đéc Market Channel, supply was limited; retailers bought evenly at steady prices.
• In An Cư – New Đồng Tháp (former Cái Bè, Tiền Giang): modest supply, slow trading, stable prices.
Retail prices remained stable compared to the weekend:
• Nàng Nhen: VND28,000/kg
• Hương Lài: VND22,000/kg
• Common rice: VND13,000 – 14,000/kg
• Long-grain Thai fragrant rice: VND20,000 – 22,000/kg
• Nàng Hoa: VND21,000/kg
• Taiwanese fragrant rice: VND20,000/kg
• Jasmine fragrant rice: VND16,000 – 18,000/kg
• Regular white rice: VND16,000/kg
• Regular Sóc rice: VND16,000 – 17,000/kg
• Sóc Thái rice: VND20,000/kg
• Japanese rice: VND22,000/kg
Fresh paddy prices (An Giang update):
• OM 18: VND6,000 – 6,200/kg
• OM 5451: VND5,900 – 6,000/kg
• IR 50404: VND5,700 – 5,800/kg
• Nàng Hoa 9: VND6,000 – 6,200/kg
• Đài Thơm 8: VND6,100 – 6,200/kg
• OM 308: VND5,700 – 5,900/kg
In various provinces today, trading activity improved slightly while prices remained mostly unchanged.
• In An Giang: traders actively bought; stable prices.
• In Hậu Giang (new Cần Thơ): modest new demand; paddy prices flat.
• In Đồng Tháp: farmers offered significant supply; buying demand was slow.
• In New Tây Ninh (former Long An): slow transactions, prices steady.
Export market:
According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA):
• 5% broken rice: USD382/ton
• 25% broken rice: USD357/ton
• 100% broken rice: USD317/ton
Vietnam exported 4.9 million tonnes of rice worth 2.54 billion USD in the first half of 2025, marking a 7.6% increase in volume but a 12.2% decline in value. Coffee exports also faced challenges amid rising domestic prices.
Acording to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the average export price fell by 18.4% year-on-year to 517.5 USD per tonne.
The Philippines remained Vietnam’s largest rice buyer, accounting for 43.4% of total exports, though the market saw a 17.4% decline in value. Shipments to Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana surged 88.6% and 61.4%, respectively. Among the top 15 markets, Bangladesh recorded the most dramatic increase, up 293 times, while exports to Malaysia posted the sharpest drop, down 54.7%.
