Foreign investment attraction in Vietnam in first 6 months of 2025
Tuesday, July 15,2025
AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 6 months of 2025, Vietnam’s registered FDI capital reached 21.52 billion USD, an increase of 32.6% compared to the same period last year; of which the adjusted registered capital of 826 projects licensed in previous years reached 8.95 billion USD, 2.2 times higher than the same period of 2024.
This reflects the increased confidence of foreign investors not only continuing to choose Vietnam as a destination but also expanding the scale of operations in Vietnam.
The total disbursed FDI capital reached 11.72 billion USD, an increase of 8.1%. This is the highest realized FDI capital in the first 6 months of the year in the past 5 years, reflecting the attractiveness of the Vietnamese market to foreign investors, and at the same time demonstrating the economy's capacity to absorb and disburse FDI capital.
A notable point about foreign investment in Vietnam in the first 6 months of 2025 was the very high number of newly registered projects, with 1,988 licensed projects, up by 21.7%; however, the registered capital reached 9.21 billion USD, down by 9.1%.
