Domestic pepper prices hold steady on July 14, 2025

 Monday, July 14,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, pepper prices ranged from VND139,000 – 141,000/kg, stable compared to yesterday.

Vietnam currently has an advantage in continuing to export pepper to the U.S. Analysts suggest domestic prices may remain sideways in the short term.
Regional prices:
• Đắk Lắk: VND141,000/kg
• Đắk Nông (Lâm Đồng): VND140,000/kg
• Gia Lai: VND139,000/kg
• Đồng Nai: VND139,000/kg
• Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (HCMC): VND139,000/kg
• Bình Phước (Đồng Nai): VND139,000/kg
Domestic prices have remained flat since late last week.
Last week, the U.S. announced tariffs on multiple countries:
• Brazil: 50%
• Indonesia: 32%
• Vietnam: 20% (previously agreed)
Pepper imports to the U.S. in the first 5 months of 2025:
• Vietnam: 23,348 tonnes (↓17.8% YoY), 64.4% market share
• Indonesia: 5,975 tonnes (↑90.3%), 16.5% market share
• India: 3,808 tonnes (↑20.1%), 10.5% market share
• Brazil: 1,722 tonnes (↑14.9%), 4.7% market share
With current tariff rates, Vietnam maintains a competitive edge in U.S. pepper exports. However, with possible changes pending further negotiations, traders and businesses are cautiously monitoring export trends before making new purchases.
Favorable weather conditions are supporting crop development in major producing countries. Analysts believe prices are likely to remain flat in the short term.
Global Market Overview:
There is some competitive pressure from existing inventories in Indonesia, Brazil, and Sri Lanka.
However, continued demand from the Middle East, India, and Europe may support prices in the medium term.
