AsemconnectVietnam - According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, the import turnover of goods from the US in the first 5 months of 2025 reached 7.2 billion USD, an increase of 24.9% over the same period last year.

Of the 43 imported goods from the US (excluding other goods), the most imported goods from the US market were the following groups of goods: computers, electronic products and components reached 2.2 billion USD, an increase of 57.6% over the same period last year, accounting for 31%; cotton of all kinds reached 621.8 million USD, an increase of 55.3%, accounting for 8.5% of the proportion; followed by raw plastic goods reaching 442.5 million USD, an increase of 40%.
Some goods with import turnover increasing compared to the previous month, such as vegetables and fruits increased by 52.2%; wood and wood products 54.9%; precious metals and gemstones increased 54.1%; confectionery and products increased 814.3%.
Regarding the upcoming US trade policy, AmCham Executive Director Adam Sitkoff said that the business communities of the two countries will raise the level of bilateral trade and investment, and coordinate with the government to remove barriers and challenges; as well as cooperate in many fields, maintain stable trade relations, and aim for harmonious, sustainable, and mutually beneficial trade.
