AsemconnectVietnam - According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, two-way trade between Vietnam and Korea in the first 5 months of 2025 reached nearly 35.05 billion USD, an increase of 9.66% compared to the first 5 months of 2024.

In particular, goods imported from South Korea into Vietnam in the first 5 months of 2025 reached over 23.67 billion USD, an increase of 8.85% compared to the first 5 months of 2024. In May of 2025 alone, the import turnover from this market reached nearly 5.2 billion USD, an increase of 13.57% compared to April of 2025 and an increase of 6.64% compared to May of 2024.
On the other hand, the exports of goods to South Korea reached nearly 11.38 billion USD in the first 5 months of 2025, an increase of 11.38% compared to the first 5 months of 2024. Thus, Vietnam's trade deficit with South Korea in the first 5 months of this year reached over 12.29 billion USD, an increase of 6.62% compared to the first 5 months of 2024.
In the first 5 months of 2025, the group of computers, electronic products and components imported from South Korea reached the largest turnover of 14.61 billion USD, accounting for 61.7% of the total import turnover of goods of all kinds from this market, an increase of 23.72% compared to the same period in 2024.
The group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts imported from South Korea ranked second in terms of turnover, reaching 1.91 billion USD, accounting for 8.06% of the total turnover, down by 15.03%. The next was the group of raw plastic products reached 914.44 million USD, accounting for 3.86% of the total turnover, down by 1.92%; petroleum of all kinds reached 673.09 million USD, accounting for 2.84%, down by 38.85%.
