Daily: Domestic pepper prices skyrocketed on June 27, 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, domestic pepper prices ranged from 124,000 to 126,000 VND per kilogram on June 27, 2025, in Vietnam.

Two consecutive days of gains have pushed prices close to the 130,000 VND/kg mark. The International Pepper Community (IPC) has continuously raised Indonesia’s export pepper prices since the beginning of the week.
• In Đắk Lắk and Đắk Nông provinces: ended morning trade up 2,000 VND/kg, at 128,000 VND/kg.
• In Gia Lai and Đồng Nai provinces: 126,000 VND/kg, also up 2,000 VND/kg.
• In Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu: 127,000 VND/kg, up 3,000 VND/kg.
• In Bình Phước: 127,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg.
This morning's pepper prices rose 2,000 – 3,000 VND/kg compared to the same time yesterday. The continuous two-day increase has brought domestic prices closer to the 130,000 VND/kg milestone.
International Market:
At the close of the most recent session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed:
• Black pepper Lampung (Indonesia): 7,528 USD/ton, up 0.36%
• Black pepper Brazil ASTA 570: 5,850 USD/ton
• Black pepper Kuching (Malaysia) ASTA: 9,000 USD/ton
• White pepper Muntok: 10,169 USD/ton, up 0.36%
• White pepper Malaysia ASTA: 11,750 USD/ton
Vietnamese pepper export prices:
• Black pepper 500 g/l: 5,800 USD/ton
• Black pepper 550 g/l: 5,900 USD/ton
• White pepper: 8,800 USD/ton
The IPC continues to raise Indonesia's export pepper prices.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) citing ITC data, Indonesia exported 3,359 tons of pepper in April 2025, down 6.7% from March. The main export markets were China (965 tons), Vietnam (584 tons), and Taiwan (282 tons).
In the first four months of 2025, Indonesia exported 15,701 tons of pepper, up 42.4% over the same period in 2024. Vietnam was the largest buyer, accounting for 23.4% of the total (3,678 tons), up 102.4% year-on-year.
China followed with 19.2% (3,012 tons), up 100.7%; and the U.S. with 15.2% (2,379 tons), up 2.1% compared to the same period in 2024.
Also according to the association, in the first 17 days of June 2025, Vietnam exported 11,721 tons of pepper, earning 79.1 million USD. The three largest exporters were:
• Nedspice Vietnam: 1,016 tons
• Olam Vietnam: 804 tons
• Simexco Đắk Lắk: 800 tons
China and the U.S. were the two largest markets for Vietnamese pepper, importing 1,904 tons and 1,785 tons respectively.
