According to calculations from preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's wood and wood product exports in May of 2025 reached over 1.41 billion USD, down by 2.5% compared to April of 2025 but up by 11.6% compared to May of 2024
In the first 5 months of 2025, exports of this group of goods reached nearly 6.81 billion USD, up by 10.3% compared to the first 5 months of 2024.
Vietnam's wood and wood product exports were mainly exported to the US market, this market alone accounted for 55.6% of the total export turnover of the with over 3.78 billion USD, an increase of 13.5% over the same period last year. In May of 2025 alone, the exports to this market reached 852.01 million USD, an increase of 6.6% compared to April of 2025 and an increase of 25.9% compared to May of 2024. In addition, some markets also achieved high turnover, such as Japan reached 859.06 million USD, accounting for 12.6%, an increase of 27.4%; the exports to China reached 707.3 million USD, accounting for 10.4%, down by 20.3%; to South Korea reached 316 million USD, accounting for 4.6%, an increase of 1.1%. Exports of wood and wood products to the Canadian market reached 113.23 million USD, accounting for 1.7%, an increase of 20.5%; and exports to the UK market reached 100.69 million USD, accounting for 1.5%, up by 12.3%
