AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnamese enterprises are ready to seek US partners to purchase key US agricultural products such as animal feed ingredients, fertilizers, etc.
At noon on June 2, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment announced that from June 1 to 7, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy will lead a working delegation with nearly 50 agencies, enterprises and associations of the Vietnamese agricultural sector to visit, work and explore opportunities to promote trade and import agricultural, forestry and fishery products from the United States, expected in Iowa, Ohio and Washington D.C.
The visit aims to strengthen bilateral trade relations, explore opportunities to increase imports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products from the United States, and aim to balance the trade balance between the two countries.
Vietnamese businesses expect that in addition to purchasing goods, there will be cooperation in receiving and transferring scientific and technological solutions to improve the agricultural value chain.
According to Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy, Vietnam and the United States are both countries with strengths in agriculture but are complementary to each other, not directly competitive.
"The most important thing is that with the participation of the two governments, Vietnamese and US agriculture are increasingly closely connected, sharing a common supply chain. Thereby, improving competitiveness, supporting the interests of producers and consumers of each country," the Minister emphasized.
Vietnamese businesses are ready to seek US partners to buy products with strengths of US agriculture such as animal feed ingredients, fertilizers and biological pesticides, meat products, cold-water seafood, and raw wood.
"Vietnamese agricultural enterprises have been strongly joining hands with the Government to increase purchases of US agricultural, forestry and fishery products with strengths to harmonize the bilateral trade balance. Thereby, closely linking the agricultural, forestry and fishery supply chains of the two countries, contributing to ensuring global food security," said Mr. Do Duc Duy.
While US consumers favor Vietnamese agricultural products, especially spices, fruits, seafood, and wooden furniture, on the contrary, Vietnamese producers increasingly have a need to import raw materials such as corn flour, soybeans, meat products, milk, wood materials, barn equipment, seedlings, etc.
The visit of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment delegation to the United States in June 2025 demonstrates Vietnam's goodwill to promote trust in strategic partnerships in the bilateral agricultural, forestry and fishery supply chain. Thereby, further fostering the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
