AsemconnectVietnam - The latest statistics from the Customs Department show that the import turnover of goods from the US continued to grow in May.

In May of 2025, Vietnam spent 1.6 billion USD importing goods from the US.
Notably, compared to the previous month or the same period last year, the import turnover in May grew positively.
Compared to April of 2025, the growth rate reached 2%, while this figure compared to the same period last year was 6.7%.
In May, major import groups from the US included computers, electronic products and components; cotton of all kinds; animal feed and raw materials; vegetables; animal and vegetable oils and fats; plastic raw materials; machinery, equipment, tools, spare parts... with turnover ranging from tens to hundreds of millions of USD/group of goods.
In total, from the beginning of the year to the end of May, the country spent 7.26 billion USD importing goods from the US, an increase of 21% over the same period last year (equivalent to an increase of 1.26 billion USD).
With the above results, the US continued to be one of the markets from which Vietnam imports the most goods.
With recent efforts to promote trade between the two countries, especially the recently signed agreements on importing goods from the US, it is forecasted that in the coming time, import turnover from the world's largest economy will continue to increase.
