Minh Phu Seafood (MPC) targets VND997 billion in profit in 2025

 Monday, June 16,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - Minh Phu Seafood Corporation (stock code MPC) has just announced documents for the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders scheduled to take place on June 21.

In its 2025 business plan, the “shrimp king” targets an output of 60,000 tons, revenue of VND15,667.2 billion, and after-tax profit of VND997 billion. This is a rather ambitious plan in the context of MPC's losses in the past two years.
Looking back at MPC's business picture, in 2023, the Company lost VND105 billion, and in 2024, it lost VND190 billion. Therefore, what is the motivation for MPC to set a profit target of VND997 billion in 2025, especially when the business context is full of challenges due to fluctuations in tariff policies as it is now, is what investors are interested in.
MPC's consolidated business results report for the first quarter of 2025 recorded a positive picture with a profit of VND17.6 billion, an increase of 144% over the same period in 2024. MPC's revenue in the first quarter of 2025 reached VND2,856 billion, an increase of 2.4% over the same period.
Explaining the growth in profit in the first quarter of 2025, MPC said that the production and business activities of the group's commercial shrimp farming and shrimp seed production companies are gradually improving, making the loss results lower than the same period.
MPC said that it will focus on completing a closed value chain, from breeding, farming, processing to exporting and distributing. The company will implement concentrated farming projects, including mangrove shrimp, extensive shrimp, high-tech super-intensive shrimp and rice-shrimp, following a cooperative model with full infrastructure for water supply and drainage and technical services.
MPC will develop high-quality seed, a factor that determines over 60% of success in shrimp farming, and proposes to build a production area for black tiger shrimp and white-leg shrimp parents, with good adaptability, disease resistance and fast growth; a production area for high-quality shrimp seed; and a production area for larvae and algae as shrimp feed in Ninh Thuan province.
MPC plans to issue shares under the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) with 154,700 shares (ratio 0.04%), issuance price of VND10,000/share. The total issuance value at par value is VND1,547,000,000. The ESOP will be restricted from transfer within 5 years from the date of completion of the issuance. The offering is expected to be carried out in 2025 after the State Securities Commission announces receipt of full issuance report documents.
Regarding personnel, according to the documents, the Congress has a proposal to dismiss Mr. Bui Anh Dung from the Board of Directors following his resignation for personal reasons, electing Ms. Le Thi Dieu Minh to replace him for the 2024-2029 term.
Ms. Le Thi Dieu Minh was born in 1986. She is the daughter of Mr. Le Van Quang, General Director of MPC. Ms. Le Thi Dieu Minh currently owns 13,126,840 MPC shares (3.27% ownership ratio).
Since 2015, she has been Deputy General Director of MPC. In addition, she is currently the General Director of Long Phung Investment Joint Stock Company.
