Sao Ta (FMC): Sales increase 39%, reaching USD21 million in May
Friday, June 13,2025
AsemconnectVietnam - Sao Ta said that May sales may be higher than USD21 million, but many shipments exported to the US have not been recorded as revenue in the month according to Vietnamese accounting standards, so revenue will be recorded next month.
According to the May 2025 operating information of Sao Ta Food JSC (stock code FMC), the Company recorded a 13% decrease in finished shrimp production in May compared to the same period, to 2,389 tons; however, shrimp consumption output increased by 53%, to 1,419 tons. In addition, agricultural production reached 202 tons and agricultural consumption reached 123 tons, respectively up 65% and 7% over the same period last year.
In general, Sao Ta's May sales reached USD21 million, up 39% over the same period. However, the company said that the actual sales in May were higher, but many shipments exported to the US under DDP conditions have not been recorded as revenue in the month according to Vietnamese accounting standards. These shipments will be recorded as revenue next month.
Accumulated from the beginning of the year until now, Sao Ta's sales have reached more than USD115 million, an increase of 41%. Sao Ta said that the company has finished stocking the new area and the rest will be completed in the next half month. The shrimp are growing well.
At the 2025 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, Mr. Ho Quoc Luc, Chairman of Sao Ta's Board of Directors, shared that the shrimp export activities of the Company in particular, and of the entire Vietnamese shrimp industry in general, are facing many challenges due to changes in tariff policies, risks of slowing global economic growth, and competitive pressure from rival countries.
Therefore, this year, the Company sets a cautious business target with a target net revenue of VND6,540 billion and pre-tax profit of VND420 billion, both slightly lower than the results achieved in 2024.
