AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 4 months of 2025, Vietnam imported 64,995 complete cars of all kinds, equivalent to 1.4 billion USD, an increase of 48.4% in quantity and 50.7% in turnover compared to the first 4 months of 2024.

According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, in April of 2025, the country imported 18,714 cars, equivalent to 422.93 million USD, down by 13.5% in quantity and down by 5% in turnover compared to March of 2025; but the figure increased sharply by 61.8% in quantity and 65.5% in turnover compared to April of 2024.
In the first 4 months of 2025, the whole country imported 64,995 completely built-up cars of all kinds, equivalent to 1.4 billion USD, an increase of 48.4% in quantity and 50.7% in turnover compared to the first 4 months of 2024. Thailand was the leading market supplying completely built-up cars to Vietnam, with 24,052 cars, equivalent to nearly 465.37 million USD, accounting for 37% of the total quantity and 33.2% of the total import turnover of completely built-up cars of the whole country, increasing in both quantity and turnover compared to the first 4 months of 2024, with increases of 79.4% and 74.6% respectively. In April of 2025 alone, the imports of cars from this market increased by 3.1% in quantity but decreased by 2.4% in value compared to March of 2025, reaching 7,968 units, equivalent to 152.1 million USD.
China was the second largest market supplying completely built-up cars to Vietnam. In April of 2025, the country’s imports of cars from this market reached 4,231 units, equivalent to 147.09 million USD, down by 5.4% in quantity but up by 8% in value compared to March of 2025. In the first 4 months of 2025, 14,070 units were imported, equivalent to 451.25 million USD, up by 59% in quantity and 67.8% in value compared to the first 4 months of 2024; accounting for 21.7% of the total quantity and 32.2% of the total import turnover of cars nationwide.
The imports from the Indonesian market reached 23,915 units, equivalent to 336.65 million USD, up by 20.2% in quantity and 17.4% in turnover, accounting for 36.8% of the total quantity and 24% of the total turnover. In April of 2025 alone, the imports from this market decreased by 37% in quantity and 36.9% in turnover compared to the previous month, reaching 5,565 units, equivalent to 77.81 million USD.
