 Friday, May 30,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s export turnover to the South Korean market in April of 2025 reached 2.2 billion USD, down by 6.9% compared to the previous month.

Cumulatively, in the first four months of 2025, the country’s exports to South Korea totaled over 8.9 billion USD, an increase of 8.9% compared to the same period last year.
The commodity group with the highest export value in the first four months of 2025 was computers, electronic products, and components, with a value of 2.6 billion USD, up by 42.2% and accounting for 29.4% of the total share. Following that was the group of computers, electronic products, and components with a value of USD 1.02 billion, down by 11.5%, accounting for 11.4% of the share.
Some commodity groups saw increased export value to South Korea in the first four months of 2025, such as petroleum products increased by 11.9%; coffee by 64.2%; pepper by 54.2%; and other common metals and related products by 7.8%.
There is great potential for trade development between Vietnam and South Korea. The bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has contributed and continues to contribute to enhancing the political, economic, and cultural relations between the two countries, further strengthening the Vietnam–South Korea strategic cooperative partnership.
In addition to the bilateral FTA, Vietnamese businesses also benefit from broader trade opportunities with South Korea thanks to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), which came into effect last year. Another FTA is the ASEAN–Korea Free Trade Agreement (AKFTA).
