Fertilizer export markets in first 4 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 4 months of 2025, fertilizer exports reached 760,707 tonnes, worth of 293.97 million USD, up by 21.8% in volume, up by 16.5% in value compared to the first 4 months of 2024.
According to preliminary data from the General Department of Customs, in April of 2025, Vietnam exported 159,884 tonnes of fertilizer, worth of 68.6 million USD, with an average price of 429 USD/tonne, down by 40% in volume, down by 24.6% in turnover but up by 25.9% in price compared to March of 2025. Compared to April of 2024, it increased 29.2% in volume, up by 55.6% in turnover and up by 20.5% in price.
In the first 4 months of 2025, fertilizer exports reached 760,707 tonnes, worth of 293.97 million USD, with an average price of 386.5 USD/tonne, up by 21.8% in volume, up by 16.5% in value but down by 4.4% in price compared to the first 4 months of 2024.
Cambodian market was leading the list of Vietnam’s major fertilizer export markets, accounting for 27% in volume and 23% in value of the country's total fertilizer exports, reaching 205,365 tonnes, worth of 67.91 million USD, with an average price of 331 USD/tonne; increased by 40.9% in volume, increased by 14.7% in value but decreased by 18.6% in price compared to the first 4 months of 2024.
The second place was the South Korean market with 99,458 tonnes, worth of 40.28 million USD, average price of 405 USD/tonne; increased by 19.3% in volume, increased by 16.8% in turnover but decreased by 2.1% in price, accounting for 13.1% in volume and 13.7% in turnover. The next was the Malaysian market with 65,196 tonnes, worth of 26.4 million USD, the average price of 404.9 USD/tonne; increased by 44.8% in volume, increased by 70.8% in turnover and increased by 17.9% in price, accounting for 8.6% in volume and 9% in turnover.
Notably, export markets with strong growth compared to the same period include: Laos, up by 80.2% in volume, up by 152.7% in turnover, reaching 26,785 tonnes, worth of 9.88 million USD; Taiwan, up by over 98.3% in volume and up by 99.2% in turnover, reaching 28,842 tonnes, worth of 12.24 million USD; Mozambique, up by 69.2% in volume and up by 116% in turnover, reaching 2,310 tonnes, worth of 1.75 million USD.
