Trading of early Summer-Autumn paddy remains slow.
In the Mekong Delta region, market activity was relatively quiet. Paddy supply was limited, and prices remained mostly stable, with some fresh paddy varieties rebounding compared to yesterday.
According to An Giang’s Department of Agriculture and Environment, current raw rice prices are:
• IR 504: 8,250 – 8,350 VND/kg
• CL 555: 8,600 – 8,900 VND/kg
• OM 380: 8,000 – 8,100 VND/kg
• OM 18: 10,200 – 10,400 VND/kg
• 5451: 9,600 – 9,750 VND/kg
Finished rice prices are:
• OM 380: 8,800 – 9,000 VND/kg
• IR 504: 9,500 – 9,700 VND/kg
By-products:
• Range from 7,150 – 9,000 VND/kg
• OM 5451 broken rice: 7,350 – 7,450 VND/kg
• Rice bran: 8,000 – 9,000 VND/kg
Local observations:
• Varieties such as 50404 and OM 380 are in limited supply, with stable or slightly higher prices for high-quality rice.
• In An Giang, there’s moderate supply and improved demand from warehouses for white raw rice.
• In Lấp Vò (Đồng Tháp), supply is steady and prices are stable.
• In Sa Đéc (Đồng Tháp) and An Cư (Cái Bè, Tiền Giang), markets are showing modest but stable activity, with firm prices for high-quality rice.
At retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged from yesterday. Current retail prices:
• Nàng Nhen: 28,000 VND/kg (highest)
• Regular rice: 13,000 – 15,000 VND/kg
• Jasmine fragrant rice: 16,000 – 18,000 VND/kg
• Common white rice: 16,000 VND/kg
• Sóc rice: 17,000 VND/kg
• Long grain Thai fragrant rice: 20,000 – 22,000 VND/kg
• Hương Lài: 22,000 VND/kg
• Nàng Hoa: 21,000 VND/kg
• Taiwan fragrant rice: 20,000 VND/kg
• Sốc Thái: 20,000 VND/kg
• Japanese rice: 22,000 VND/kg
For fresh paddy, according to An Giang’s Department of Agriculture and Environment:
• Đài Thơm 8 (fresh): 6,800 – 7,200 VND/kg (up 200 VND)
• OM 18 (fresh): 6,800 – 7,200 VND/kg (up 200 VND)
• OM 5451 (fresh): 5,900 – 6,200 VND/kg
• IR 50404 (fresh): 5,400 – 5,600 VND/kg
• OM 380 (fresh): 5,500 – 5,800 VND/kg
• Nàng Hoa 9: 6,650 – 6,750 VND/kg
In various localities:
• The early Summer-Autumn crop is trickling in with stable prices.
• In Cần Thơ, trade is moderate and prices are firm.
• In An Giang, early harvest is starting, but buying is slow and prices are fluctuating.
• In Tiền Giang, Kiên Giang, and Long An, trade is slow, with little price movement.
On the export market, Vietnam’s rice export prices remain unchanged from yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA):
• 5% broken rice: 397 USD/ton
• 25% broken rice: 368 USD/ton
• 100% broken rice: 321 USD/ton
