 Friday, May 16,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, domestic coffee prices in Vietnam ranged from 125,000 to 125,500 VND/kg on May 16, 2025.

 • In Di Linh, Lâm Hà, and Bảo Lộc (Lâm Đồng province), coffee is being purchased at 125,000 VND/kg.
• In Cư M'gar district (Đắk Lắk), the price is 125,500 VND/kg.
• In Ea H'leo and Buôn Hồ (Đắk Lắk), prices are at 125,400 VND/kg.
• In Đắk Nông province, coffee is purchased at 125,500 VND/kg in some areas and 125,400 VND/kg in others like Gia Nghĩa and Đắk R’lấp.
• In Gia Lai province, Chư Prông sees prices at 125,300 VND/kg, while Pleiku and La Grai are both at 125,200 VND/kg.
• In Kon Tum province, the price is 125,200 VND/kg.
Compared to the same time yesterday morning, domestic coffee prices have declined slightly.
Global Coffee Market:
At the close of the latest trading session:
• Robusta (London exchange):
o July 2025 contracts fell by 39 USD/ton, to 4,971 USD/ton
o September 2025 contracts fell by 27 USD/ton, to 4,960 USD/ton
• Arabica (New York exchange):
o July 2025 contracts rose by 10.2 cents/lb, to 375 cents/lb
o September 2025 contracts rose by 9.55 cents/lb, to 371.35 cents/lb
The two exchanges moved in opposite directions, with Robusta continuing to decline and Arabica making a comeback. London Robusta is now at its lowest point in five weeks.
The increase in Robusta supply from Brazil's harvest is putting downward pressure on the London market. Domestically, experts estimate that only around 15% of the coffee stock remains in the hands of farmers, who are now selling cautiously rather than in bulk. In general, this year’s coffee supply is insufficient to meet market demand. However, due to ongoing global geopolitical uncertainties, importers are no longer stockpiling as they once did. Instead, they have shifted to a "just-in-time" purchasing strategy to minimize risk.
According to the International Coffee Organization (ICO), global coffee exports in March increased slightly by 0.6% compared to the same period last year. This marks the second consecutive month of growth, following three months of decline.
ICO’s report indicates that in March, three out of the four main coffee-exporting regions recorded growth. Only South America saw a decline, leading to its share of global coffee exports dropping to 35.7% in March—the lowest since June 2023.
