AsemconnectVietnam - ACB to increase capital to VND51,367 billionAsia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB - Code: ACB) has just announced that the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has approved the increase of charter capital by a maximum of nearly VND6,700 billion in the form of issuing shares to pay dividends according to the plan approved by the bank's shareholders' meeting.
Accordingly, ACB will issue a maximum of nearly 670 million new shares to pay dividends to shareholders at a rate of 15% (shareholders owning 100 shares on the record date will receive 15 new shares). The total issuance value at par value is nearly VND6,700 billion. After the issuance, the bank's charter capital will increase from VND44,667 billion to a maximum of VND51,367 billion. The expected time to complete the plan to issue and increase charter capital is the third quarter of 2025.
ACB said that increasing charter capital is extremely necessary to add medium and long-term capital for credit activities, government bond investment; at the same time, there is more capital to invest in facilities and strategic projects of the bank.
As of the end of March 2025, ACB's charter capital was at VND44,667 billion, ranking 6th in the industry's charter capital scale. ACB has just announced its first quarter financial report with pre-tax profit reaching VND4,600 billion, down 6% over the same period. According to ACB, the profit decrease was mainly due to proactively implementing preferential interest rate programs to support customers and promote economic growth. Although profit decreased slightly, the ROE ratio was above 20%.
By the end of the first quarter of 2025, ACB's credit scale reached VND590,000 billion, up 3.1% over the same period last year. ACB's total capital mobilization, including customer deposits and valuable papers, reached VND664,000 billion, up 4% over the previous year. The bad debt ratio showed signs of slowing down and decreasing slightly compared to the end of 2024, to 1.48%.
