AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, domestic pepper prices remained unchanged at 153,000 to 155,000 VND/kg on May 9, 2025, compared to yesterday.
After three consecutive days of decline, the domestic market has stabilized. The average export price of black pepper over the first four months of the year reached 6,749 USD/ton, up 96.0%, while white pepper reached 8,611 USD/ton, up 73.8% year-on-year.
- In Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces, pepper is being purchased at 155,000 VND/kg.
- In Gia Lai, Dong Nai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, and Binh Phuoc provinces, the price stands at 153,000 VND/kg.

- Black pepper from Lampung (Indonesia): 7,338 USD/ton, up 0.22%
- Brazil ASTA 570 black pepper: 6,800 USD/ton
- Kuching (Malaysia) ASTA black pepper: 9,200 USD/ton
- Muntok white pepper: 9,939 USD/ton, up 0.22%
- Malaysia ASTA white pepper: 11,900 USD/ton
Vietnamese black pepper traded at:
- 6,700 USD/ton for the 500 g/l grade
- 6,800 USD/ton for the 550 g/l grade
- White pepper: 9,700 USD/ton
IPC reported price increases in Indonesia, attributing them partly to a 1% appreciation of the Indonesian Rupiah against the USD (16,705 IDR/USD) and tight supply in the market.
Other market trends:
- Domestic and international pepper prices in India declined.
- Sri Lankan domestic pepper prices continued to rise.
- Malaysia’s domestic pepper prices increased, while its export prices trended downward.
- Prices remained stable for Brazilian black pepper, Cambodian black pepper, and Chinese white pepper.
