According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, cassava and cassava products exported in the first 3 months of 2025 reached over 1.21 million tonnes, equivalent to over 372.88 million USD, with an average price of 307.8 USD/tonne, up by 28.2% in volume, but down by 13.4% in turnover and down by 32.4% in price compared to the first 3 months of 2024.
In March of 2025 alone, the exports of cassava were estimated to reach 487,674 tonnes, equivalent to 139.19 million USD, with an average price of 285.4 USD/tonne, up by 13.9% in volume, up by 3.5% in turnover but down by 9.1% in price compared to February of 2025. In comparison to March of 2024, it increased sharply by 54.9% in volume, but down by 2% in turnover and down by 36.8% in price.
Cassava and cassava products exported mostly to the Chinese market, accounted for 95.6% of the total volume and 93.7% of the total export turnover of this commodity group of the whole country, reaching 1.16 million tonnes, equivalent to 349.49 million USD, up by 30% in volume but down by 12.7% in turnover compared to the first 3 months of 2024, the export price to this market decreased sharply by 32.9%, reaching an average of 301.7 USD/tonne. In March of 2025 alone, 465,745 tonnes were exported to China, equivalent to 129.86 million USD, priced at 278.8 USD/tonne, up by 13.2% in volume, up by 2.2% in turnover but down by 9.7% in price compared to February of 2025. In comparison to March of 2024, it increased sharply by 55.5% in volume, but decreased by 2.8% in turnover and 37.5% in price.
In addition, Vietnam also exported 12,878 tonnes of cassava and cassava products to Taiwan, earning 4.85 million USD, down by 18% in volume, down by 44% in turnover compared to the same period last year while the exports to the Malaysian market 9,883 tonnes, equivalent to 3.78 million USD, up by 138.6% in volume and up by 70.2% in turnover; to the Philippines reached 8,043 tonnes, equivalent to 3.08 million USD, up by 31.5% in volume but down by 2.4% in turnover.
