AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's import turnover of goods from France in the first 3 months of 2025 reached 369.2 million USD, down by 12.5% over the same period last year.

The main items that Vietnam imported from France were pharmaceuticals; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts; means of transport and other spare parts; chemical products; wood and wood products; milk and dairy products, etc. Of which, the item with the largest import turnover in the first 3 months of 2025 was pharmaceuticals, reaching 99.2 million USD, down by 21.3% over the same period, accounting for 26.8% of the import proportion. It was followed by the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 38 million USD, down by 26.4%, accounting for 10.3% of the export proportion.
Among the 15 free trade agreements (FTAs) that have come into effect and are being implemented between Vietnam and other countries, the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EVFTA) is one of the important agreements, creating a framework for long-term and stable economic-trade-investment cooperation between Vietnam and the EU, as well as between Vietnam and France. France has many advantages in the fields of pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, clean and sustainable agriculture, infrastructure, logistics, etc. These are areas that are consistent with Vietnam's orientation to attract foreign investment.
