Vietnam’s cashew nut export markets in first 3 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s cashew nut exports in the first 3 months of 2025 reached 122,171 tonnes, equivalent to over 839.06 million USD, with an average price of 6,868 USD/tonne, down by 18.9% in volume, but up by 3.7% in turnover and up by 28% in price compared to the first 3 months of 2024.
In March of 2025 alone, the country’s exports of cashew nuts were estimated to reach 55,839 tonnes, equivalent to 384.19 million USD, with an average price of 6,880 USD/tonne, up by 93.6% in volume, down by 92.4% in turnover but down by 0.6% in price compared to February of 2025. In comparison to March of 2024, it decreased by 5.2% in volume, but increased by 21.8% in turnover and 28.5% in price. Cashew nuts exported to the US market accounted for the most with 23.7% of the total volume and 23.5% of the total export turnover of this commodity group of the country, reaching 28,901 tonnes, equivalent to over 197.4 million USD, down by 26.2% in volume and down by 5.1% in turnover compared to the first 3 months of 2024, but the export price to this market increased by 28.5%, reaching an average of 6,830 USD/tonne. In March of 2025 alone, 13,569 tonnes of cashew nuts were exported to the US, equivalent to 93.84 million USD, priced at 6,916 USD/tonne, a sharp increase of 94.9% in volume, 92.7% in value but a decrease of 1.1% in price compared to February of 2025. In comparison to March of 2024, it decreased by 15.9% in volume, but increased by 8.1% in value and 28.6% in price.
Chile ranked second with 17,410 tonnes of cashew nuts, earning 109.45 million USD, priced at 6,286.5 USD/tonne, down by 26% in volume, down by 16.6% in value but up by 12.8% in price compared to the same period last year. The exports to the Netherlands market were 11,989 tonnes, equivalent to 85.48 million USD, up by 16.6% in volume and by 48.7% in value; and the exports to the UAE reached 4,950 tonnes, equivalent to 36.37 million USD, down by 10.5% in volume but up by 17.9% in value compared to the same period last year.
