Vietnam steel market April 2025: Steel prices stable

 Wednesday, April 30,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - In April 2025, steel prices remained relatively stable, with no significant fluctuations compared to the end of March. Construction steel prices from major companies such as Hòa Phát, Việt Ý, and Miền Nam remained in the range of 13,530 – 13,580 VND/kg for CB240 coil steel and D10 CB300 rebar. This stability reflects a market slowdown after a slight increase earlier this year.

The main reasons are that domestic demand has yet to show a strong recovery, while supply remains abundant. The real estate and construction sectors have not rebounded significantly, keeping demand relatively low. Additionally, the prices of raw materials such as billet and iron ore have slightly decreased in the international market, contributing to the stability of domestic steel prices.
Some smaller steel companies made slight reductions of 50–100 VND/kg to stimulate demand. However, overall market purchasing power has not shown clear improvement.
Domestic steel prices continue to be heavily influenced by international developments, particularly steel prices and trade policies from China and the U.S.
