DAILY: Domestic rice prices remained unchanged on April 28, 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, domestic rice prices on April 28, 2025, remained stable compared to the previous day. Trading activity is quiet as many traders begin their holiday break early.
According to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang Province, there have been no changes in prices for both fresh paddy and milled rice.
Specifically, as per the latest data:
- OM 18 fresh paddy: 6,900 - 7,050 VND/kg;
- Dai Thom 8 fresh paddy: 6,900 - 7,050 VND/kg;
- OM 5451 fresh paddy: 6,500 - 6,700 VND/kg;
- IR 50404 fresh paddy: 5,800 - 6,000 VND/kg;
- OM 380 fresh paddy: 5,900 - 6,000 VND/kg;
- Nang Hoa 9 paddy: 6,650 - 6,750 VND/kg.
In various localities, farmers have started to offer early-harvested Summer-Autumn paddy, though in small quantities. In Can Tho, some early Summer-Autumn paddy is offered, trading remains slow, and prices are holding firm. In Kien Giang, farmers are offering paddy at stable prices but trading activity is low due to many traders taking holidays. In An Giang, early-harvested Summer-Autumn paddy is also trickling into the market. Farmers are holding out for higher prices, and demand remains sluggish. In Long An, some buyers are making small purchases, mainly of paddy already under contract, and prices are stable.
Regarding rice products, based on updates from An Giang Province:
- OM 18 raw rice: 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg;
- IR 504 raw rice: 8,050 - 8,200 VND/kg;
- OM 380 raw rice: 7,700 - 7,850 VND/kg;
- OM 5451 raw rice: 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg;
- OM 380 finished rice: 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg;
- IR 504 finished rice: 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.
By-products are priced between 7,450 - 9,000 VND/kg, with fragrant broken rice (tấm thơm) priced between 7,450 - 7,600 VND/kg, and rice bran (cám) ranging from 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.
In many localities, supplies are limited and trading is slow as many traders are on holiday. In An Giang, rice trading is sluggish, with warehouses purchasing in small quantities. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), supply is low and rice prices are stable. At the Sa Dec market (Dong Thap), there is limited supply with stable prices. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), supply remains low and trading is slow, but prices are steady.
At retail markets, rice prices are stable compared to yesterday:
- Nang Nhen rice: 28,000 VND/kg;
- Regular rice: 13,000 - 15,000 VND/kg;
- Jasmine fragrant rice: 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg;
- Standard white rice: 16,000 VND/kg;
- Soc regular rice: 17,000 VND/kg;
- Thai long-grain fragrant rice: 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg;
- Huong Lai rice: 22,000 VND/kg;
- Nang Hoa rice: 21,000 VND/kg;
- Taiwanese fragrant rice: 20,000 VND/kg;
- Soc Thai rice: 20,000 VND/kg;
- Japanese rice: 22,000 VND/kg.
On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remain steady compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA):
- 5% broken rice: 395 USD/ton;
- 25% broken rice: 368 USD/ton;
- 100% broken rice: 323 USD/ton.
