Wednesday, April 23,2025
AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinh tế Đô thị, the domestic rice market saw mixed movements on the morning of April 23, 2025. Rice prices dropped by VND50/kg for some types, while paddy prices rose by VND100/kg compared to the previous day.
The dry paddy market slowed down, with traders actively offering their stocks, but warehouses purchased less.
Specifically, in the Mekong Delta region, prices remained relatively stable, with only slight fluctuations in fresh paddy and rice materials compared to the weekend.
According to An Giang’s Department of Agriculture and Environment:
• OM 18 (fresh) increased by VND100/kg to VND6,800 – 7,000/kg
• OM 380 (fresh) increased by VND100/kg to VND5,900 – 6,000/kg
• OM 5451 (fresh) decreased by VND100/kg to VND6,200 – 6,300/kg

• IR 50404 (fresh): VND5,800 – 6,000/kg

Paddy transactions were sluggish in many localities, especially for dry paddy. Traders holding stocks were active in offering, but warehouses showed little interest. Fresh paddy transactions were also slow. In An Giang and Cần Thơ, transactions remained quiet with slight price fluctuations. In Long An, low buying interest resulted in sluggish trade.
In Kiên Giang, paddy supply was limited, especially from Hòn Đất, with minimal price changes. In Bạc Liêu, prices for ST fresh paddy remained high as many fragrant rice fields were already contracted; traders were slow to buy.
As for rice, according to the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Environment:
• IR 504 raw rice increased by VND50/kg to VND7,900 – 8,050/kg
• OM 380 raw rice decreased by VND50/kg to VND7,700 – 7,850/kg

In local markets, limited volume was reported, with slow transactions for IR50404 and OM380 rice. Prices were stable in An Giang as warehouses bought less. In Lấp Vò (Đồng Tháp), slow buying activity by large warehouses led to little price movement.
At Sa Đéc wholesale market (Đồng Tháp), supply was low, warehouse demand was slow, and prices were unchanged. In An Cư (Cái Bè, Tiền Giang), market activity was sluggish, mainly common rice, with prices mostly flat.
At retail markets, rice prices remained stable compared to the beginning of the week:
