4 groups of goods with export turnover of over 10 billion USD as of April 15

AsemconnectVietnam - In comparison to the same period of 2024, as from beginning of the year to April 15, the number of groups of goods earned over 10 billion USD increased by one group, according to the latest statistics of the Customs Department.
From the beginning of the year to April 15, the total export turnover of the whole country reached 119.62 billion USD, an increase of 10.53% over the same period of 2024, equivalent to an increase of 11.4 billion USD.
Notably, there were 4 groups of goods with a turnover of 10 billion USD or more, an increase of 1 group compared to the same period last year.
The new group of goods reaching a turnover over 10 billion USD was textiles and garments with 10 billion USD, an increase of 10.58% over the same period of 2024, equivalent to an increase of 958 million USD.
The textile and garment export market was quite diverse: the US reached 3.79 billion USD (updated by the Customs Department according to the market by the end of the first quarter of 2025), up by 15.2% over the same period last year; Japan reached 1.07 billion USD, up by 12%; the EU reached 921 million USD, up by 12.3%; South Korea reached 828 million USD, up by 3.3%.
Among the main export groups, computers, electronic products and components still hold the No. 1 position with 24.81 billion USD, up by 31.27% over the same period last year, equivalent to an increase of 5.91 billion USD.
The main exports of computers, electronic products and components to major markets were the US with 7.47 billion USD, up by 48.3% over the same period last year; China with 3.64 billion USD, up by 17.2%; EU with 2.41 billion USD, up by 37.8%; Hong Kong (China) with 2.06 billion USD, up by 2%; South Korea with 1.99 billion USD, up by 29.7%.
Although phones and components were still in second place in terms of turnover with 15.8 billion USD, but compared to the same period last year, they decreased by 910 million USD.
The main export markets for phones of all kinds and components were the US with 2.75 billion USD, down by 10.2% compared to the same period last year; China with 2.7 billion USD, up by 7.4%; EU with 2.22 billion USD, up by 7.3%; South Korea with 780 million USD, down by 12.1%; United Arab Emirates with 759 million USD, down by 15.5%.
The third largest export group is machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts with 14.48 billion USD, up 13.84% over the same period in 2024, equivalent to an increase of 1.76 billion USD.
The 3 notable major export markets of this group were the US with 5.26 billion USD, up by 25.3% over the same period last year; the EU with 1.72 billion USD, up by 3.3%; Hong Kong (China) reached 661 million USD, 3 times higher.
