AsemconnectVietnam - By mid-April, the total import and export turnover of the whole country reached 237.97 billion USD, according to the latest statistics of the Customs Department.

According to the Customs Department, in the first half of April (from April 1 to 15), the total export turnover of the whole country reached 16.75 billion USD.
The export commodity groups with a turnover of billions of USD in this period were computers, electronic products and components reached 3.7 billion USD; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reached 2.1 billion USD; phones and components reached 1.77 billion USD; textiles reached 1.3 billion USD and footwear reached more than 1 billion USD.
In general, from the beginning of the year to April 15, the total export turnover of the whole country reached 119.62 billion USD, an increase of 10.53% over the same period of 2024, equivalent to an increase of 11.4 billion USD.
The country’s imports of goods recorded a turnover of 16.7 billion USD in the first 15 days of April 2025.
The two groups of imported goods with a turnover of billions of USD in this period were computers, electronic products and components; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts with results of 5.55 billion USD and 2.46 billion USD, respectively.
Thus, from the beginning of the year to April 15, the total import turnover of the whole country reached 118.35 billion USD, an increase of 16.68% over the same period last year, equivalent to an increase of 16.92 billion USD.
With the results achieved in the first half of April, the total import-export turnover of the whole country from the beginning of the year to April 15 reached 237.97 billion USD, the trade balance surplus was 1.27 billion USD. According to the reporter's observation, the import-export turnover of the whole country in the first half of April still maintained a stable scale as in the first months of 2025, without any decrease as some concerns before when the US government announced to impose a 46% reciprocal tax on imported goods from Vietnam (currently the reciprocal tax is being temporarily suspended by the US for 90 days).
