AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, domestic rice and paddy prices in Vietnam remained unchanged on April 21, 2025, compared to yesterday, due to slow trading activity.
In the Mekong Delta, prices for both fresh paddy and rice were steady. According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province:
• Raw rice prices:
o OM 18: VND10,200 – 10,400/kg
o IR 504: VND7,900 – 8,050/kg
o OM 380: VND7,700 – 7,850/kg
o 5451: VND9,600 – 9,750/kg
• Finished rice prices:

• By-products:

o Bran: VND8,000 – 9,000/kg
Across localities, trading remains quiet with low volumes. In An Giang, supplies are limited and warehouse demand is still sluggish. Similar conditions were reported in Lap Vo (Dong Thap), Sa Dec market, and An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang) – where supplies are low and buyers are hesitant, resulting in stable prices. At retail markets, prices for some fragrant rice varieties like Jasmine, Nang Hoa, Taiwanese Fragrant Rice, and Soc Thai dropped by VND 1,000/kg during the week.
• Highest priced variety: Nang Nhen at VND 28,000/kg
• Common white rice: VND15,500 – 16,000/kg
• Thai fragrant long grain rice: VND20,000 – 22,000/kg
• Huong Lai rice: VND22,000/kg
• Jasmine rice: VND17,000 – 18,000/kg
• Nang Hoa rice: VND21,000/kg
• Taiwanese fragrant rice: VND20,000/kg
• Standard white rice: VND17,000/kg

Paddy Prices (Fresh):
According to An Giang province:
• OM 18: VND6,800 – 7,000/kg
• OM 380: VND5,900 – 6,000/kg
• OM 5451: VND6,300 – 6,400/kg

• IR 50404: VND5,800 – 6,000/kg
• Nang Hoa 9: VND6,650 – 6,750/kg
Fresh paddy supply is declining in many areas. In An Giang and Can Tho, available stock is running low and trading is slow. In Bac Lieu, most of the fragrant rice has already been contracted, and buyer interest is weak. In Long An, supply is gradually decreasing with stable prices, while in Tra Vinh, harvests have mostly finished and prices are steady.

• 5% broken rice: USD394/ton
