DAILY: Domestic rice prices remained unchanged on April 15, 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, on April 15, 2025, Vietnam's rice export prices saw a slight drop of $2 per ton for 5% broken rice. The domestic dried paddy market slowed, with farmers uniformly offering rice for sale.

In the Mekong Delta, paddy and rice prices remained relatively stable with limited supply. The market was quiet, with processed rice prices holding steady and fresh paddy prices showing a slight downward trend.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang Province, current raw rice prices are as follows:
• IR 504: 7,850 – 8,000 VND/kg
• OM 380: 7,700 – 7,850 VND/kg
• 5451: 9,600 – 9,750 VND/kg
Processed rice prices:
• OM 380: 8,800 – 9,000 VND/kg
• IR 504: 9,500 – 9,700 VND/kg
Byproducts such as broken rice and bran are priced between 6,600 – 9,000 VND/kg:
• Broken rice: 6,650 – 6,800 VND/kg
• Rice bran: 8,000 – 9,000 VND/kg
Reports from localities today show limited supply, stable rice prices, and slow trading activity. In An Giang, warehouse demand remained low and prices were stable. In Lấp Vò (Đồng Tháp), rice was in short supply, most large warehouses were slow to trade, and prices held firm. In Sa Đéc market (Đồng Tháp), trading activity was sparse, warehouses continued slow purchasing, and prices were steady. At An Cư market (Cái Bè, Tiền Giang), trading was light and prices remained unchanged.
Retail market prices for rice also remained unchanged from the weekend:
• Nàng Nhen: up to 28,000 VND/kg
• Regular rice: 15,500 – 16,000 VND/kg
• Long grain Thai fragrant rice: 20,000 – 22,000 VND/kg
• Hương Lài: 22,000 VND/kg
• Jasmine fragrant rice: 18,000 – 20,000 VND/kg
• Nàng Hoa: 22,000 VND/kg
• Taiwan fragrant rice: 21,000 VND/kg
• Standard white rice: 17,000 VND/kg
• Regular Sóc rice: 18,000 VND/kg
• Sóc Thái: 21,000 VND/kg
• Japanese rice: 22,000 VND/kg
For fresh paddy, according to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang:
• OM 18: 6,800 – 6,900 VND/kg
• Đài Thơm 8: 6,900 – 7,000 VND/kg
• OM 5451: 6,200 – 6,400 VND/kg
• IR 50404: 5,800 – 6,000 VND/kg
• OM 380: 6,000 VND/kg
• Nàng Hoa 9: 6,550 – 6,750 VND/kg
Trading activity for dried paddy slowed in many provinces. Farmers were actively offering paddy for sale, but buyers were limited. In An Giang and Cần Thơ, fresh paddy trading remained quiet and prices were stagnant. In Long An, traders showed low interest and the market was quiet.
In Kiên Giang, trading volumes were low, especially for paddy from Hòn Đất, and prices showed signs of falling. In Bạc Liêu, ST fragrant paddy prices remained high, but traders were reluctant to buy. Many fragrant rice fields had already been pre-contracted.
On the export market, Vietnam’s rice export prices dropped slightly today. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA):
• 5% broken rice: USD397/ton (down USD2/ton)
• 25% broken rice: USD369/ton
• 100% broken rice: USD317/ton
