Vietnam’s imports from UK increased in first quarter of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's import turnover from the UK market in the first 3 months of 2025 reached 215.1 million USD, up by 23.2% over the same period last year.

The leading import turnover in the first 3 months of 2025 was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and other spare parts reaching 60.4 million USD, up 55% over the same period last year, accounting for 28.1% of the export proportion. The next were pharmaceuticals, reaching 22 million USD, up by 16.8%, accounting for 10.2% of the export proportion.
In the first quarter of 2025, some items had a significant increase in import turnover compared to the same period last year, such as the imports of plastic products increased by 178.4%; cameras, camcorders and components increased by 10 times; fabrics increased by 58.6%.
The UKVFTA is a new step forward, as the UK and Vietnam already share a strategic commitment to global trade and the liberalisation of capital and investment flows. The UKVFTA is an important element in ensuring the continuity of the dynamic and growing trade relationship between the two countries.
