 Thursday, April 17,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - Sao Ta Food Joint Stock Company (code FMC - HOSE) has just announced its business situation in March 2025 with sales reaching USD23.62 million, up 23%.

Of which, finished shrimp production reached 2,549 tons, up 27% over the same period last year; finished shrimp consumption reached 2,016 tons, up 19%. Finished agricultural product production reached 153 tons and finished agricultural product consumption reached 89 tons, up 36% and 51% respectively over the same period last year.
As a result, the Company's total sales in March reached USD23.62 million, up 23% over the same period. Accumulated in the first quarter of 2025, Sao Ta's revenue reached USD70.52 million, an increase of 41.9% over the same period in 2024.
At the upcoming General Meeting of Shareholders, Sao Ta will set a business target of 25,000 tons of processed shrimp, 22,000 tons of consumed shrimp, and 1,300 tons of consumed agricultural products. Accordingly, the total revenue is estimated at USD255 million, an increase of nearly 2% compared to 2024; total pre-tax profit is VND420 billion, a slight decrease compared to 2024 (VND422 billion).
Thus, at the end of the first quarter of 2025, Sao Ta is estimated to have achieved nearly 28% of the total revenue target for the year.
Regarding shrimp farming, the Company's new farming area has started releasing shrimp for the main crop in late March. According to the plan, the old area will also start releasing shrimp in mid-April.
According to Sao Ta, this year the Company will have many advantages when trade conflicts increase, the global supply chain may be disrupted, creating opportunities for FMC to penetrate the market. The Company has the conditions to focus on product specialization at each factory to reduce costs and increase productivity.
Sao Ta also owns a large ASC farming area (international certification for seafood), enough to meet the supply for large systems; while customers, markets and product quality are stable.
However, difficulties will come from the fact that Vietnamese shrimp exported to the US market is facing 2 anti-dumping lawsuits and anti-subsidy lawsuits; unpredictable climate change, full of potential risks for shrimp farming. In particular, the inflationary recession has not improved significantly, the world shrimp supply and demand situation is unfavorable for Vietnamese shrimp.
