Imports of goods from China increased by 20.7% in 2 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's import turnover of goods from the Chinese market in the first 2 months of 2025 reached 23.3 billion USD, up by 20.7% over the same period last year.
The leading import turnover in the first 2 months of 2025 was the group of computers, electronic products and components, reaching 6.3 billion USD, up by 33.9% over the same period last year, accounting for 33.9% of the total import proportion. The next was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and other spare parts, reaching 4.6 billion USD, up by 24.5%, accounting for 20.1% of the proportion.
Vietnam's import turnover of goods from the Chinese market in 2024 reached 144 billion USD, an increase of 30.1% over the same period of the previous year. In 2024, some items had a significant increase in import turnover compared to the previous year: the imports of means of transport and spare parts increased by 50.9%; raw plastic materials increased by 44.9%; other base metal products 51%; complete automobiles of all kinds 130%. In recent years, the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China has been continuously consolidated and strengthened. High-level and all-level exchanges and contacts have taken place regularly in flexible forms. The economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries has grown positively and continuously reached new records. China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for many consecutive years and Vietnam is China's largest trading partner in ASEAN, and the 6th largest in the world. Other areas of mutually beneficial cooperation are constantly expanded and deepened, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.
