Market trends
According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), after a decline at the end of 2024, Vietnam's coffee export prices have rebounded strongly in early 2025 due to supply constraints.
Average export price in February 2025: $5,695/ton
Up 4.7% from the previous month
Up 71.3% compared to the same period in 2024
According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), the sharp rise in coffee prices is mainly due to Arabica, as Brazil's production dropped by 16%. Brazil is set to begin harvesting Robusta soon, while Arabica will be harvested a few months later.
Vietnam’s coffee exports are forecasted to exceed $6 billion in 2025. By 2030, the industry aims to expand 11,000 hectares of specialty coffee, producing 15,000 tons per year. Additionally, Vietnam’s coffee sector is focusing on deep processing, including premium instant coffee, coffee capsules, and RTD (ready-to-drink) products, to enhance export value.
The domestic market is also a bright spot, with consumption reaching 270,000 - 300,000 tons per year, growing steadily at 2-3% per year.
