Rice Prices Today, March 13: Fresh Paddy Slightly Increases

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, domestic rice prices on March 13 continued to see a slight adjustment, with some types of fresh paddy increasing by 100 VND/kg. The market for paddy transactions remains stable, with relatively strong purchasing demand.

Regarding paddy prices, according to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang Province, the latest updates show:
• OM 18 (fresh paddy) increased by 100 VND/kg, ranging from 6,500 - 6,700 VND/kg.
• Đài Thơm 8 (fresh paddy) increased by 100 VND/kg to 6,500 - 6,700 VND/kg.
• OM 380 (fresh paddy) increased by 200 VND/kg to 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg.
• OM 5451 (fresh paddy) remains at 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg.
• IR 50404 (fresh paddy) remains at 5,500 - 5,600 VND/kg.
• Japanese rice (fresh paddy) is priced at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg.
• Nàng Hoa 9 (fresh paddy) is at 9,200 VND/kg.
Market Trends in Different Provinces
• In Hậu Giang, paddy harvesting is in full swing, farmers have slightly increased their asking prices, and demand remains stable as crops ripen evenly.
• In Đồng Tháp, farmers maintain their asking prices, with steady purchasing demand.
• In Sóc Trăng, paddy prices are stable, but transactions remain slow.
• In An Giang, farmers are quoting higher prices; in Thoại Sơn, purchasing demand is moderate, though some fields still have green grains mixed in.
• In Cần Thơ, only a small amount of paddy remains, most of it is pre-sold, and harvesting will conclude in a few days.
• In Kiên Giang, trading activity is steady, demand is good, and paddy prices remain relatively stable.
Rice Prices in An Giang Province
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang Province, rice prices are as follows:
• OM 380 raw rice: 7,900 - 8,000 VND/kg.
• IR 504 raw rice: 8,150 - 8,200 VND/kg.
• OM 18 raw rice: 9,300 - 9,500 VND/kg.
• 5451 raw rice: 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg.
• OM 380 finished rice: 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg.
• IR 504 finished rice: 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.
By-products Prices
By-product prices range between 5,550 - 7,300 VND/kg, specifically:
• Fragrant broken rice: 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg.
• 3-4 broken rice: 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg.
• Dry rice bran: 5,550 - 5,700 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.
Rice Market in Local Areas
• In An Giang, rice arrivals are steady, but warehouse purchases have slowed, with prices varying based on quality.
• In Sa Đéc (Đồng Tháp), the rice supply is relatively high, mainly fragrant sticky rice, with stable transactions and prices.
• In Lấp Vò (Đồng Tháp), large rice arrivals have led to cautious buying from warehouses, causing some price reductions.
• In Sa Đéc Market (Đồng Tháp), rice arrivals have increased slightly, and warehouses are selectively purchasing rice. Prices remain stable, and by-product prices are steady.
• In An Cư (Cái Bè, Tiền Giang), rice supply is moderate, but prices have dropped slightly, and warehouse purchasing is slow.
Retail Rice Prices
Retail rice prices remain unchanged from yesterday:
• Nàng Nhen rice: 28,000 VND/kg (highest).
• Regular rice: 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg.
• Fragrant Thai long-grain rice: 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg.
• Hương Lài rice: 22,000 VND/kg.
• Jasmine fragrant rice: 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg.
• Nàng Hoa rice: 22,000 VND/kg.
• Taiwanese fragrant rice: 21,000 VND/kg.
• Regular white rice: 17,000 VND/kg.
• Regular Sóc rice: 18,000 VND/kg.
• Sóc Thái rice: 21,000 VND/kg.
• Japanese rice: 22,000 VND/kg.
Export Market
Vietnam's export rice prices remained unchanged from yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA):
• 5% broken rice: 390 USD/ton.
• 25% broken rice: 364 USD/ton.
• 100% broken rice: 307 USD/ton.
A festival, featuring a light show, musical performances, and a drone display, opened at March 10 Square in Buon Ma Thuot city, the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on March 12 evening, attracting thousands of people.
The event formed part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory and the liberation of Dak Lak province (March 10, 1975 - 2025) and the broader 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival.
Famous domestic and foreign artists participated in the light festival, bringing unique performances. Notably, 500 drones took to the night sky over Buon Ma Thuot, reflecting the beauty and spirit of the city, dubbed the coffee capital of Vietnam.
Dak Lak has the potential to emerge as one of the leading coffee hubs in the region and the world. The Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand and its geographical indication have already reached over 80 countries and territories.
Through various activities within the coffee festival, Dak Lak aims to showcase its breathtaking landscapes and the rich cultural heritage of its ethnic communities as well as to promote its economic and tourism potential while further expanding the global reach of the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand.
