Domestic Coffee Market on March 5: Prices Continue to Rise

AsemconnectVietnam - In today’s trading session, robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area, rose sharply to 133,000 – 135,100 VND per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.

Updated Domestic Coffee Prices in Key Producing Areas
In Lâm Đồng, coffee prices today are:
• Di Linh, Lâm Hà, Bảo Lộc: 133,000 VND/kg
In Đắk Lắk, coffee prices are:
• Cư M'gar: 135,000 VND/kg
• Ea H’leo, Buôn Hồ: 134,900 VND/kg
In Đắk Nông, coffee prices are:
• Gia Nghĩa: 135,100 VND/kg
• Đắk R’lấp: 135,000 VND/kg
In Gia Lai, coffee prices are:
• Chư Prông: 134,800 VND/kg
• Pleiku, La Grai: 134,700 VND/kg
In Kon Tum, coffee is being purchased at 134,700 VND/kg.
This confirms a strong price trend in the domestic market, reflecting high demand and global market support.
Vietnam Coffee Export Update
According to the Vietnam Coffee Association (Vicofa), in February 2025, Vietnam exported 193,031 tonnes of coffee, generating over $1.08 billion in export revenue. This marks the first time Vietnam's coffee exports surpassed $1 billion in a single month.
For the first two months of 2025, Vietnam exported 343,331 tonnes of coffee, earning more than $1.87 billion. This includes:
• Green coffee exports: 315,615 tonnes ($1.65 billion), a 14.8% decrease in volume but a 50% increase in revenue year-on-year.
• Processed coffee exports: 27,716 tonnes ($228.06 million), accounting for 12.1% of total coffee export revenue.
• Foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) have also re-entered the market strongly after a period of caution.
Global Coffee Market Trends
According to Reuters, Brazil’s coffee farmers, facing one of the worst droughts in history, have already sold most of their crops months before the new harvest. Coffee prices have nearly doubled in the past 14 months, reaching record highs.
Global coffee prices on both exchanges continued to rise:
• Robusta (LRCc2) on the London Exchange: Up 2.9% to $5,645/ton.
• Arabica (KCc2) on the New York Exchange: Up 11.75 cents (3%) to 398.4 US cents/lb.
• Arabica prices have stabilized after falling from a record high of 429.95 US cents/lb in February, amid concerns that high prices could weaken demand.
