Nam Dinh’s industrial production increased in February of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - The acceleration of computer production helped Nam Dinh's industrial production in February and the first two months of the year achieve double-digit growth.
According to data recently released by the Nam Dinh Provincial Statistics Office, in February of 2025, the industrial establishments in the province returned to production after the Lunar New Year holiday, helping the industrial production index in the first two months of the year increase sharply compared to the same period last year.
The province’s industrial production index in February of 2025 increased by 22.74% over the same period last year. In comparison to the previous month, the mining industry decreased by 41.09%; the processing and manufacturing industry decreased by 8.02%; the production and distribution of electricity and gas decreased by 0.09%; water supply, waste and wastewater treatment decreased by 5.93%.
In the first two months of the year, the industrial production index was estimated to have increased by 17.69% over the same period last year.
Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 17.95%, contributing 17.61 percentage points to the overall increase; the electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning production and distribution industry increased by 0.29%, contributing 0.01 percentage point; the water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment industry increased by 16.26%, contributing 0.24 percentage points; the mining industry alone decreased by 45.94%, decreasing by 0.17 percentage points due to the colder and rainier weather than the same period last year, and salt workers returning to the salt fields later after Tet.
Some secondary industries with a large proportion in the whole industry had a sharp increase in the industrial production index in the first two months of the year compared to the same period last year, such as the production of drugs, pharmaceutical chemicals and medicinal materials increased by 36.37%; production and processing of food increased by 32.86%; production of leather and related products increased by 26.15%; production of beds, cabinets, tables and chairs increased by 15.73%; textiles increased by 15.34%...
In terms of industrial products, compared to the first two months of 2024, the volume of industrial products in the first two months of this year increased sharply in some key industries, such as fabrics of all kinds increased by 21.18%; wooden tables and chairs of all kinds increased by 15.62%; rattan and bamboo products of all kinds increased by 15.30%; ready-made clothes increased by 10.98%; shoes and sandals increased by 3.50%; doors, iron and steel windows increased by 1.78%...
In February of this year, the labor utilization index of industrial production enterprises in Nam Dinh province increased by 3.06% compared to the previous month and increased by 5.75% compared to the same period last year.
In the first two months of the year, the labor utilization index increased by 3.75% compared to the same period last year. Of which, state-owned enterprises increased by 4.90%, non-state enterprises decreased by 3.61% and foreign-invested enterprises increased by 7.19% compared to the same period last year.
