AsemconnectVietnam - According to the preliminary statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, in January 2025, the whole country exported 12,958 tonnes of pepper, equivalent to 87.54 million USD, with an average price of 6,756 USD/tonne, down by 12.1% in volume, down by 10.1% in turnover but up by 2.3% in price compared to December of 2024.

Compared to January of 2024, it also decreased by 25.8% in volume but increased by 25.3% in turnover and increased by 68.9% in price.
The US market consumed the most pepper from Vietnam with 2,829 tonnes, equivalent to 21.73 million USD, with an average price of 7,680 USD/tonne, accounting for 21.8% of the total volume and 24.8% of the total pepper export turnover of the whole country, down by 29.7% in volume, down by 28.3% in turnover but up by 2% in price compared to December of 2024. Compared to January of 2024, it decreased sharply by 41.4% in volume but increased by 8.5% in turnover and increased sharply by 85.3% in price.
Pepper exports to the German market ranked second in turnover, reaching 1,326 tonnes, equivalent to 9.37 million USD, with a price of 7,065 USD/tonne, accounting for over 10% of the total volume and total pepper export turnover of the whole country; increased sharply by 80.2% in volume, increased by 70.2% in turnover but decreased by 5.6% in price compared to December of 2024. Compared to January of 2024, it also increased by 37% in volume, increased by 110.9% in turnover and increased by 54% in price.
The exports to the Indian market ranked third with 976 tonnes, equivalent to 6.99 million USD, priced at 7,158 USD/tonne, accounting for nearly 8% of the total volume and total export turnover of pepper in the country; increased by 37.9% in volume, increased by 45.3% in turnover and increased by 5.4% in price compared to December of 2024. Compared to January of 2024, it decreased by 29.5% in volume but increased by 25% in turnover and increased by 77.3% in price.
