Promoting trade and expanding markets
In 2024, despite many difficulties, exports in Tuyen Quang province continue to be a bright spot thanks to measures to remove difficulties, support production, promote trade and expand markets.
Export market for dry tea is wide open for tea production enterprises in the province. In addition to the Middle East market, Tuyen Quang tea has markets in Europe, North America and Asia.
A representative of Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang said that export turnover in 2024 in the area continues to achieve a good growth rate with an estimated export turnover of 170 million USD, reaching 100% of annual plan. In particular, groups of tea products of all kinds, plywood, PP canvas, headphones... are groups of products with a large proportion of export value, export value increased.
Song Lo Tea Joint Stock Company is considered the "leading flag" with impressive export turnover. In 2024, the company exported more than 4,700 tonnes of green tea and black tea of all kinds. Export value is estimated at nearly 8 million USD, exceeding the plan by 70%.

To export stably, the company maintains traditional old customers such as Middle Eastern countries, India, Pakistan, Russia, the Netherlands and at the same time seeks new markets in ASEAN countries, Taiwan (China).
As for Woodsland Tuyen Quang Joint Stock Company, it currently has stable export products to the US and European markets. In 2024, the company's revenue reached VND 1,600 billion, an increase of 23% compared to 2023, contributing over VND 60 billion to the budget. Major export markets are strengthening enforcement of import regulations as an important technical barrier for many groups of products from exporting countries. For example, European countries (EU) have requested the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), effective from October 2023. Accordingly, goods imported into the EU market will have to bear additional costs, convert to a production model that emits less emissions to earn carbon credits. Adapting to export market, the company has continuously changed its designs according to each order that partners need and its technology is always innovated to better meet quality. Up to now, the company has had orders until the end of 2025, expecting the revenue target of 2,000 billion VND to be reached.
At Tuyen Quang Mechanical Joint Stock Company, it shared that in 2024, the company has recovered production thanks to market diversification, revenue has increased by 20% compared to 2023. Currently, the unit has orders until the end of the first quarter of 2025. In previous years, the company's oil-rubbed wood and flooring products were only exported to China, but now China no longer imports, forcing businesses to find ways to link with units to form a production chain to export to major markets such as the US, Europe, etc.
Efforts to take advantage of every opportunity
Although positive results have been achieved, according to assessment of Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang, the province's export turnover reached 170 million USD in 2024, which is still very "modest" compared to many other localities.
In 2025, Tuyen Quang province aims to achieve an export value of 175 million USD. To achieve this goal, all levels of the province and businesses have been making fundamental plans, diversifying markets, and improving the quality of export products to avoid possible trade risks.
Despite facing many difficulties, businesses are currently making efforts to take advantage of every opportunity to achieve the highest possible export results.
Ms. Cao Cam Tu, Deputy Director of Sao Viet Tuyen Quang Co., Ltd., said that the company has 3 manufacturing factories and 36 business locations, purchasing raw materials. The company has invested in building a plywood factory with a modern automated production line with a total investment of over 100 billion VND, in order to improve productivity, increase output, produce high-precision finished products, the lowest error rate, save production costs, and lower product prices to serve the domestic and export markets.
Erex Sakura Tuyen Quang Biomass Fuel Factory project was invested and built on an area of 3.3 hectares in Long Binh An Industrial Park and has just come into production. The factory has a designed capacity to produce 150,000 tonnes of biomass pellets/year and 150,000 tonnes of wood chips/year, with a total investment of more than 478.8 billion VND (equivalent to more than 20.4 million USD).
Mr. Honna Hitoshi, Chairman and General Director of Erex Joint Stock Company, said: The factory is testing high-quality wood pellet products. The pellet products will be widely used in many fields such as fuel for thermal power plants, fuel for fireplaces, industrial incinerators, steam systems, drying livestock food... This project will lead the green production trend, applying the circular economic model so that the products meet the greening requirements of the market and customers.
To promote production and export of goods in the area, Department of Industry and Trade of Tuyen Quang province said that in the coming time, the Department will continue to review and grasp difficulties and problems of proposed enterprises, recommend the Provincial People's Committee, ministries and branches to take timely measures to remove them; promptly inform enterprises of new mechanisms and policies. Along with that, continue to promote coordination and organize trade promotion activities; building, promoting brands, connecting supply and demand for some of the province's main products, maintaining and promoting the province's traditional export products.
