In June 2024, Vietinbank Capital became a major shareholder of Viconship after successfully purchasing 9.2 million VSC shares, increasing its ownership to 8.25%, equivalent to 22 million shares.
On VSC's side, according to the financial statements for the fourth quarter of 2024, the Company brought in nearly VND774.8 billion in net revenue, an increase of approximately 24% over the same period last year; profit after tax skyrocketed by more than 333%, to VND321.7 billion.
Explaining the reason for the sharp increase in profits, Viconship said that the Company's financial revenue in the fourth quarter of 2024 increased dramatically, 27.5 times higher than the same period, reaching VND220 billion, due to the re-evaluation of the fair value of the investment in an associate (35% of the capital contribution at Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port Company Limited) at the fair value based on the equivalent purchase price of the 65% purchase with the amount of VND189 billion. At the same time, the business activities of Viconship's subsidiaries all grew relatively well and reduced costs compared to the same period last year, helping to increase profits.
Accumulated for the whole year of 2024, Viconship recorded VND 2,788 billion in net revenue, an increase of 28% compared to the results of 2023; profit after tax reached VND 561.4 billion, an increase of 182%.
