AsemconnectVietnam - In 2024, pharmaceutical imports reached nearly 4.4 billion USD, an increase of 27.9% compared to 2023.

According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, pharmaceutical import turnover in December of 2024 reached 518.17 million USD, a sharp increase of 68.6% compared to November of 2024 and an increase of 77.3% compared to December of 2023. In the whole year of 2024, pharmaceutical imports reached nearly 4.4 billion USD, an increase of 27.9% compared to 2023.
The major markets supplying pharmaceuticals to Vietnam in 2024 were France, the US, Germany, and India. In which, the largest import was from the French market, reaching 572.46 million USD, an increase of 31.4% compared to 2023, accounting for 13% of the total import turnover of this group of goods in the country.
It was followed by the US market reaching 512.53 million USD, an increase of 30.2%, accounting for 11.7%; the German market reaching over 404.8 million USD, an increase of 26.8%, accounting for 9.2%; the Indian market reaching nearly 335.71 million USD, an increase of 22.7%, accounting for 7.6%.
The imports from the Italian market increased by 57.6%, reaching 302.56 million USD, accounting for 6.9%.
