AsemconnectVietnam - On the morning of February 12, 2025, at Ton Dong A factory - Dong An 2 Industrial Park, Hoa Phu ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province, the ISO 14064-1:2018 certification ceremony on greenhouse gas inventory at the enterprise took place.

The event marked an important step forward in the journey of sustainable development and implementation of environmental protection commitment of Ton Dong A Joint Stock Company (code GDA - UPCoM floor).
The announcement and awarding ceremony of ISO 14064-1:2018 took place in a solemn atmosphere with the presence of representatives of Bureau Veritas Vietnam Co., Ltd. - one of the world's leading certification organizations and the leaders of Ton Dong A Joint Stock Company. This is an opportunity for Ton Dong A to share its achievements, convey a message about its relentless efforts to meet international standards and strengthen its brand position in the market.
ISO 14064-1 is an important part of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This standard specifies the principles and requirements for measuring, monitoring, reporting and verifying the amount of greenhouse gases of organizations and enterprises. Applying ISO 14064-1 helps enterprises comply with mandatory emission reporting programs, while creating conditions for accessing the carbon market in the future. Recognizing the role of greenhouse gas inventory in the sustainable development strategy, Ton Dong A has proactively collected and provided operational data to serve the 2024 greenhouse gas inventory. This not only helps the Company accurately assess emissions, optimize production efficiency, but also move towards carbon traceability on each product, meeting increasingly stringent requirements from the domestic and international markets.
Mr. Pham Quoc Thang, Deputy General Director of Ton Dong A, emphasized that in the context of the global market increasingly tightening environmental requirements, ISO 14064-1:2018 certification helps enhance brand reputation and open up great opportunities in export, especially in markets applying the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) such as Europe. Achieving this certification demonstrates Ton Dong A's long-term strategy in enhancing competitiveness and affirming its pioneering position in the Vietnamese steel industry, towards green production according to international standards.
At the ceremony, the representative of Bureau Veritas Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Thai Thao Vy, Director of Certification, expressed her desire to accompany Ton Dong A in implementing modern emission management solutions, improving inventory capacity and aiming to achieve higher environmental certifications in the future.
Aiming at the goal of net zero emissions by 2050, Ton Dong A continues to spread sustainable values through a series of environmentally friendly projects. The company has promoted investment in green technology such as installing solar power systems at the Thu Dau Mot branch, optimizing energy consumption with LED technology, applying inverters to adjust electricity capacity and deploying smart water management systems to minimize resource waste...

Previously, in December 2024, Ton Dong A achieved ISO 14067:2018 certification on product carbon footprint assessment, helping to accurately determine the amount of emissions on each product and build a suitable emission reduction strategy. At the same time, achieving these two important certifications helps Ton Dong A increase its competitive advantage, meeting the requirements of the European market under the CBAM mechanism, effective from October 2023.
