DAILY: Vietnamese coffee prices rebounded on February 13, 2025

 Thursday, February 13,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area, rebounded on Thursday to 131,800 - 133,000 VND per kg compared to yesterday.

In Lâm Đồng province, coffee prices today are being purchased at 131,800 VND/kg in Di Linh, Lâm Hà, and Bảo Lộc districts.
In Đắk Lắk province, prices are at 132,800 VND/kg in Cư M'gar district, while in Ea H'leo and Buôn Hồ districts, coffee is being bought at 132,700 VND/kg.
Similarly, in Đắk Nông province, coffee prices today are at 133,000 VND/kg in Gia Nghĩa and 132,900 VND/kg in Đắk R’lấp.
In Gia Lai province, prices are at 132,800 VND/kg in Chư Prông, while in Pleiku and La Grai, they are at 132,700 VND/kg.
In Kon Tum province, coffee is being purchased at 132,700 VND/kg.
After a brief correction, prices on both major coffee exchanges surged again. Speculative capital continues to flow into coffee, particularly Arabica, given the current market conditions. Vietnam's coffee exports in 2025 promise a bountiful harvest season.
At the close of last week's trading session, Robusta coffee prices in London saw a sharp rise:
  • March 2025 contracts increased by 164 USD/ton, reaching 5,817 USD/ton.
  • May 2025 contracts rose by 158 USD/ton, reaching 5,821 USD/ton.
On the New York exchange, Arabica coffee prices also saw a significant jump:
  • March 2025 contracts rose by 18.35 cents/lb, reaching 431.8 cents/lb.
  • May 2025 contracts increased by 15.8 cents/lb, reaching 420.2 cents/lb.
After a single session of correction, both markets surged strongly again. Speculative funds continue to pour into coffee, especially Arabica, amid current market conditions. Rising oil freight costs since the beginning of the year have further driven coffee prices to new peaks.
With record-high prices, Vietnam’s coffee export market in 2025 is expected to see a bumper crop. Coffee farmers celebrated a joyful and prosperous Lunar New Year.
The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA) assesses that the 2024-2025 crop year presents many challenges but also promising opportunities. The Central Highlands, Vietnam's largest coffee-growing region, continues to face weather fluctuations. However, thanks to farmers' proactive adaptation and support from businesses and local authorities, the quality of Vietnamese coffee is steadily improving.
In 2024, Đắk Lắk province exported over 264,000 tons of coffee, generating export revenue of 915 million USD—an increase of 168 million USD compared to 2023. Of this total, over 783 million USD came from green coffee beans, while instant coffee accounted for nearly 132 million USD.
2024 also marked the first time that Gia Lai province’s coffee export revenue reached 620 million USD, making it the leading sector in the province. In Đắk Nông province, coffee export revenue in 2024 hit 280 million USD, a 70% increase from 2023.
