Import-export turnover reached more than 34 billion USD in first half of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - The total import-export turnover in the first half of January of 2025 reached more than 34 billion USD, the trade balance suffered a deficit of nearly 2 billion USD.
According to the latest statistics figures just announced by the General Department of Customs, in the first half of January (January 1-15, 2025), total export turnover reached 16.25 billion USD.
Notably, there were 5 groups of goods with a turnover of billions of dollars, including computers, electronic products and components; phones and components; machinery, equipment, tools, spare parts; textiles; footwear.
Outstanding export groups of the agricultural sector with a turnover of hundreds of millions of USD included seafood, coffee, vegetables, fruits, etc.
In the opposite direction, the country’s imports of goods in the first half of January reached 17.98 billion USD. The two groups of billion-dollar imported goods were computers, electronic products and components; machinery, equipment, tools, spare parts.
Thus, in the first 15 days of January, our country had a trade deficit of 1.73 billion USD.
In 2024, the total import-export turnover of the whole country reached 786.29 billion USD, the highest ever and an increase of 15.4% (equivalent to an increase of 105.22 billion USD) compared to the previous year.
Of which, exports reached 405.53 billion USD, an increase of 14.3% (equivalent to an increase of 50.81 billion USD) and imports reached 380.76 billion USD, an increase of 16.7% (equivalent to an increase of 54.41 billion USD).
