Imports of goods from Canada increased by 36.7% in 2024

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's import turnover of goods from the Canadian market in December of 2024 reached 65.9 million USD, down by 34.3%% compared to the previous month. In 2024, it reached 856.3 million USD, up by 36.7% over the same period last year.

The leading import turnover item in December of 2024 was wheat, reaching 5.2 million USD, down by 87.7% compared to the previous month. In 2024, the imports reached 140.1 million USD, up by 43.7%, accounting for 16.3% of the import proportion.
The next was soybean, reaching 3.7 million USD in December of 2024, down by 16.1%. In the whole year of 2024, the figure reached 72.6 million USD, down by 7.3%, accounting for 8.4% of the proportion.
In 2024, most items had a significant increase in import turnover compared to the previous year: the imports of iron and steel scrap increased by 169.4%; pharmaceuticals increased by 91.6%; rubber increased by 208.3%.
The Vietnamese community as well as Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs in Canada have made efforts to directly contribute to consolidating and strengthening the Vietnam-Canada Comprehensive Partnership in all fields, especially when the two countries are members of the CPTPP Agreement.
